A quote from Henry Ford says, ‘Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.’ As we reflect on 2023, we recognize the contribution of youths in the successful delivery of our projects and programs, empowering young people to lead and thrive.
We started as an unregistered group in 2017 and in 2021 NGYouthSDGs registered as the Network of Youth for Sustainable Initiative (NGYouthSDGs) working with young people and youth groups to advocate for meaningful engagement in policies and programs for youth to lead and thrive. With a focus on education and leadership development, employment and livelihood and active citizenship, NGYouthSDGs equips young people and youth groups with the tools they need to advocate for sustainable development in communities across Nigeria.
This year, we focused on amplifying the importance of meaningful youth engagement to address rising youth unemployment, youth civic desert and localization of the Sustainable Development Goals in communities across Nigeria. We created opportunities for young people to meet with decision-makers, develop their advocacy skills and co-design programs with our team.
We are so proud that our partners continue working with us to raise the ambition of youth leadership for
sustainable development.
