The Ekiti State Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) office will be commemorating the 2019 International Youth Day in partnership with the Nigerian Youth SDGs Network.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on SDGs, Mrs. Abimbola Solanke speaking during the meeting emphasized the need for accelerated progress for the SDGs in the state and the vital role that youth inclusion plays in achieving the 2030 Agenda.
The partnership meeting was attended by Tosin Kayode, the Ekiti State Coordinator of the Nigerian Youth SDGs Network and Michael Peculiar, a youth and tourism advocate Yesterday, we held a partnership meeting with the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Mrs. Abimbola Solanke towards the 2019 International Youth Day on August 12.
The meeting was attended by the Ekiti SSA on SDGs, Mrs. Abimbola Solanke, members of the Ekiti SDGs office, our Ekiti State Coordinator, Tosin Kayode with the support of Michael Peculiar, an advocate for sustainable tourism. Other participants at the meeting: Mr. Eyitayo Fabunmi, Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria Ekiti State Chapter also Ekiti State Focal Person for Civil Society Organizations in SDGs.

The International Youth Day event will focus on highlighting the work of young people of the state in creating solutions to advancing the SDGs with emphasis on access to education, clean water and sanitation, decent jobs and climate action. About one hundred and fifty young people are billed to attend the event.
