Recognizing Volunteers for Building Resilient Communities as the World Celebrates IVD 2018

We join the rest of the world to recognize every individual who is contributing to building a better society.

This day, 5th of December was designated by the United Nations in 1985 as an international observance day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism. International Volunteers Day (IVD), 2018 recognizes volunteers worldwide with a special focus on local community volunteers- who contribute to making their communities more resilient against natural disasters, economic stresses and political shocks.

The cumulative result of the works of volunteers in communities is shaping these communities thus building resilient communities that is stronger and better.

To this end, we are joining the world to commemorate December 5th by hosting two volunteerism advocates. We will be having a discussion with them on Twitter to dissect IVD’s theme for this year- Volunteers Build Resilient Communities.

The objective of this Twitter Chat is to identify the culminating impacts of local volunteers in building resilient communities.
