The Network of Youth for Sustainable Initiative (NGYouthSDGs) is pleased to announce that it has received funding from the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF) through their Agile Fund to implement a project under its Youth Voice Naija campaign titled “Empowering Youth Voices in Policy Reform: Targeted Youth Consultations to Inform the National Youth Policy Process.”
As part of the Youth Voice Naija, the project will engage young people in Bauchi, Benue and Rivers states through three in-person zonal dialogues, complemented by virtual consultations via Zoom and X (Twitter) Space. The initiative will bring together young women, youth with disabilities, student leaders, and youth from underserved communities, ensuring that diverse perspectives shape the next National Youth Policy (NYP).
“Young people are central to shaping Nigeria’s future,” said Joshua Alade, Executive Director of NGYouthSDGs. “Through Youth Voice Naija, we are creating structured, inclusive platforms where youth across the country can meaningfully contribute to the policies that affect their lives.”
NGYouthSDGs will implement the project in close alignment with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, synthesizing all insights into a policy brief that will be formally submitted to the Ministry. Beyond informing policy, the project strengthens youth capacity in advocacy, policy dialogue, and collaborative leadership, fostering sustained engagement between young people and government.
